The Office of Biomedical Graduate Education at Georgetown University provides a number of services to prospective and current students, faculty and staff. RecruitmentDirect and manage recruitment-related activities such as advertising, off-campus recruiting, on-campus open houses, inquiry response, and tracking of potential candidates for admission. AdmissionsDirect all aspects of the admissions process, including review and processing of applications and credential/data management. Registration & EnrollmentMonitor and document status of all enrolled students, and oversee the enforcement of policies and procedures of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences for all graduate programs at the Medical Center campus. Mentorship & AdvisingFacilitate contact between students and mentors or advisors, and provide general advising about university policies and proceudres for biomedical graduate students. Fiscal OversightProvide overall graduate biomedical training program budget oversight, including the disbursement of graduate student aid via fellowships, assistantships and scholarships, and the disbursement, tracking and monitoring of funds for academic program support and activities. Administrative OversightProvide oversight for standing committees directly related to biomedical graduate education issues at the Medical Center campus, including assisting these committees with policy development and implementation, and ensuring that policies and guidelines of the Graduate School and Medical Center administration are implemented and observed. Special EventsDirect and organize special events, such as yearly Orientation programs for all incoming graduate biomedical students; organize poster presentations and judging for the annual Student Research Days Competition and Exposition; organize on-campus Open House recruitment events; assist with individualized programs and events for select academic areas. Academic Program Development & SupportCreate and implement policies and procedures for new academic program initiatives, and provide oversight and support for interdisciplinary programs.
