Dr. Milton Brown is the inaugural Edwin H. Richard and Elisabeth Richard von Matsch Endowed Chair in Experimental Therapeutics at Georgetown. A medicinal chemist, he specializes in the design, synthesis, and evaluation of new drugs and the principal investigator of Lombardi's drug discovery laboratory. Dr. Brown is one of the foremost translational drug discovery scientists in the United States today, and his laboratory has evaluated over 1000 compounds for possible use as therapeutics to treat prostate cancer, leukemia, and epilepsy. His work has resulted in new pre clinical models creation of two start-up companies and he holds the rights to 16 patents and patent applications.

Dr. John Marshall serves as Associate Director of Clinical Research at Lombardi. A clinician dedicated to the performance of high-quality translational clinical research, his areas of interest and research include angiogenesis, signal transduction, and, more recently, vaccine-based therapies. His work has been funded through three NCI grants, including two R01 grants. As Clinical co-Leader of 3DT, he has overseen a significant number of translational Phase I and Phase II clinical trials, including several "first trials in man," industry-supported Phase I and Phase II clinical trials, and multiple investigator-initiated studies. Dr. Marshall also directs the new Lombardi-MedStar Oncology Research Network.
