1) Where can I find out about Georgetown's job openings?
You can review the vacancy listing that is available in the Human Resources office in Healy G-18. You can also visit our website at: http://www3.georgetown.edu/hr/index.html
2) How do I apply for a job?
You can submit a resume and cover letter and you must specify the job number and letter for the job to which you are applying in the cover letter. If you do not have a resume, you can submit an application. You do not have to submit both. For Professional and Administrative positions, a resume and cover letter are preferred. We recommend that you apply online at: http://www12.georgetown.edu/hr/employment_services/joblist/jobs.html You can also apply by mail, or by fax. Our fax # is 202-687-2389.

Generally resumes are reviewed by the Human Resources Generalists or the hiring supervisor within one week. However, it may be more time before you might be contacted.
4) How long will it take before someone gets back to me about my candidacy?
Due to the large volume of resumes we receive, we are unable to provide a personal follow up. Should your credentials form a suitable match with the position to which you have applied, you will be contacted. The time frame from when we receive your resume to when we contact you can vary.
5) How will I know if the position to which I applied has been filled?
Generally, if a position is still advertised on our website, the position is still open.
6) How long does the hiring process take?
It varies by position depending on how urgently a position is needed or other priorities the department may have.
7) Do I need to submit an application if I have a resume?
No, we do not initially require the application. If you are hired for the position, you will need to complete an application.
8) If I want to apply to more than one position, can I submit just one resume and/or application?
No, you must submit a separate resume and/or application for each position to which you are applying. This is true when applying in person in Human Resources, by mail, fax, or when applying online.
9) Where are faculty positions advertised?
They are advertised by the individual department. You might find faculty advertisements in the Chronicle of Higher Education, on the department's website or other publications.
