Don Bosco Cristo Rey Business Boot Camp 2011

Your time is not just an expression of gratitude, it is an investment in talented urban students and urban America

GU Human Resources department has the privilege to work with one of the nation's promising academic ventures, Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School in the Washington, DC Metro area. Sustained mostly on its own merits and through the support of its corporate clients, the school always welcomes volunteers who can afford their talents, skills and abilities in helping students. We welcome you to take advantage of the following volunteer opportunities at Cristo Rey High School and help us make this initiative a success!

Business Boot Camp - Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School organizes a "Business Boot Camp" every year. The Business Boot Camp is a three-week job training program for incoming freshmen and transfer students. Click here for directions to the school. Please proceed to read below. The school has provided a pdf, which we have listed below as a link for you to printout. Interview Students at Tacoma Park, Maryland (25 volunteers needed)
To be held from 12:30-4:30pm on Fri, Aug 12, 2011,
the interviews are a comprehensive test. These interviews determine if whether or not a student will survive the Work-Study Program or more importantly, if the school must better prepare students before they are thrown into the throes of the professional world. While the process is vital to the student's academic beginning, it is also a great experience for the interviewer who gets insight into how well urban teenagers fit into the professional realm. DBCR has 140 students this year. They will provide the interview questions and train the interviewers. The length of each interview will be between 10-15 minutes Each volunteer will host between 5 - 7 interviews or more.
