"New-to-You" Clothing Party

Let's Pick & Choose! Let's Give & Take!

Economic stress, like other forms of stress, can lower your immune system. So grab this opportunity to save money and boost your well-being

  • De-clutter your closets and enjoy your home
  • Share your bounty with other GU faculty and staff
  • Shop for free, "new-to-you" clothes
  • Make a contribution- all clothing that remains at the end of the day will be donated to Good Will

What: A chance to share, donate and take home clothing without spending any money. Clothing for women, men, and children. Hats and handbags welcome- please leave shoes and jewelry at home.

Where & When: Tuesday, September 22, McShain Lounges, McCarthy Hall. Please bring donations between 7:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Doors open for shopping noon to 6:00 p.m.

How It Works: Each person who arrives between noon and 5:45 p.m. will receive three tickets that can be used to claim three items of clothing. Since we are operating on a first-come-first-served basis, we cannot promise that there will be three items available or that we will have your size.

Please Bring: A light-hearted and generous attitude. Don't expect miracles, but you just may find a treasure that works for you!

Volunteering Opportunities: We are looking for volunteers who can help us receive and sort clothes, hand out tickets, assist "shoppers", and package clothing for donation. If you are available to help, please contact Sue (Mon-Wed) shj22@georgetown.edu, 7-3599, or Sandy (Mon-Fri) sw287@georgetown.edu, 7-2409.
