Enrollment and Tuition

Enrollment

Hoya Kids can accommodate 58 children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years as follows:

  • Toddlers: 16 children ages 18 months to 2½ years
  • Twos/Threes: 24 children ages 2½ to 4 years
  • Preschool: 18 children ages 3½ to 5 years

The Center maintains a waiting list, and immediate enrollment cannot be expected.  Children who are offered a space are typically on the waiting list for a minimum of one year prior to enrollment, so early registration prior to age-eligibility is highly encouraged.  The waiting list is arranged by registration date within the following categories, in order:

  • Siblings of currently-enrolled children,
  • Children of University-affiliated parents/guardians,
  • Children of on-site MedStar-employed parents/guardians.

Sibling Priority-  The sibling of a child who is already enrolled in the Center will receive priority placement over a child in the same category who is waiting for enrollment but does not have a sibling in the Center.

Children can be enrolled full-time year-round or, for some age groups, parents can request a part-time match that combined, fills a full-time space year-round (e.g. one child is enrolled Monday, Wednesday and Friday; the other is enrolled Tuesday and Thursday). Full-time enrollees are guaranteed a space for the subsequent year and age group. Part-time enrollment is extremely limited and permitted at the discretion of the center based on available slots and waiting list. Part-time spaces are not guaranteed.

Hoya Kids Learning Center has specific eligibility requirements that are based on the parent's or guardian's affiliation with the University.

Tuition

Once a tour has been conducted, a non-refundable enrollment fee of $75.00 is required to place your child on the waiting list. (This fee is waived for families with annual houshold incomes of less than $60,000)  A security deposit of $500 is required once a space has been confirmed and will be applied toward your child's first month of tuition. Tuition rates include all snacks, juice and milk each day. Children bring their own lunches.

To help ensure that the Center is accessible to all members of the Georgetown University community, families (excluding MedStar employees) with combined income below $100,000 are eligible for scholarships.  These scholarships are based on the availability of funds. Please contact Hoya Kids Learning Center for more information.

The tuition structure is based on the child's birthday and grouping. For example, if a child is enrolled in the Toddler group even though they have become old enough for the 2's/3's group, the family will continue to pay the Toddler tuition until the child moves into the new group as space become available.
