Hoya Staffing temporary employees are categorized as Special Employees. A Special Employee is an individual hired to work as needed and is not eligible for full staff benefits. As such, Hoya Staffing temporary employees are not eligible to be paid for special leave days or days when the University is closed due to inclement weather unless they are required to work on those days. They are only paid for actual hours worked. Specific exceptions include:
Vehicle Operations - Hoya Staffing temporary employees must be approved before driving a University vehicle, their own vehicle, or any other vehicle on University business. Please let us know if your temporary job requires operating a vehicle so that we can have the employee complete the required forms.
Teleworking - Hoya Staffing temporary employees are not authorized to work remotely without special approval. Please let us know if your temporary job requires the employee to work outside of a University office.
