All members of the Georgetown University Community are invited to participate in the community-wide "Let Freedom Ring!" Choir to perform during the annual Kennedy Center event on January 15, 2007 to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.    Traditionally, an acclaimed musical artist has performed as part of the Kennedy Center's daily free Millennium Stage performance.  Past celebrity artists have included Roberta Flack (2003), Jessye Norman (2004), Aaron Neville (2005) and Yolanda Adams (2006), and Brian McKnight (2007).   In January 2005, Georgetown University choirs had the great honor of singing for President George and Mrs. Laura Bush, along with "Legacy of a Dream" award recepients, then-Secretary of State Colin and Mrs. Alma Powell.

Two on-campus rehearsals are scheduled for November 8, 2007 and continue again on November 29, 2007, both from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.  Members of the "Let Freedom Ring!" Chorus  are required to attend AT LEAST ONE "CAMPUS" rehearsal (November 8th and November 29th), as well as TWO "OFF-CAMPUS" Required rehearsals will begin January 15-17, 2008, on the week prior to tjhe performance on January 21, 2008 in order to perform with our yet-to-be-named celebrity artist for anyone wishing to participate.
