Bright Beginnings
Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development provides
consultative services to Bright Beginnings.
- Bright Beginnings is a Head Start and Early Head Start Program
- in the District of Columbia
- that serves children and their families who are homeless
- full day program year round
- birth to five years of age
- most live in homeless shelters and transitional housing
Georgetown consulting faculty provide:
- formal interdisciplinary evaluations
- classroom observation for individual children and whole classrooms
- standardized developmental screening
- consultation to teachers, social workers, other staff and parents around individual children and families and
- consultation to the director and educational coordinator around programmatic planning
- therapeutic intervention
- workshop series for teachers
The team consists of
- a clinical psychologist
- an occupational therapist
