Field committee chair

The chair of the faculty field committee, Dr. David Painter, is the director of studies for IHIS. Prof. Painter works with the curricular dean and the members of the field committee to review the curriculum, choose courses for the major, and plan events. He can offer advice on:

• the rationale for major requirements
• interesting major courses available at overseas studies sites
• how to choose the right faculty mentor
• the honors program in the major
• events on campus of interest to majors
