Proposals

Honors thesis proposals are due for current Juniors on Friday, February 29, 2008.  Thesis proposals may be submitted in person or by e-mail, fax or regular mail. Please note that this deadline cannot be extended, since the evaluation committee needs to begin reviewing proposals right away.

For proposals accepted conditionally, revisions are generally due by mid-April (the letter of acceptance will specify the exact date). Take this timeline into account when you plan your spring, especially if you are studying abroad - many foreign universities have extended vacations around this time. To do revisions, you will usually need access to a major library.

If you have been accepted to the honors program, you need to sign up for the honors tutorial (RCST-305) during add-drop of the fall of your senior year. Tutorial forms must be completed by you and your faculty advisor and submitted to Dean Gregory by the end of add-drop.

Theses

Completed honors theses are due on April 15 of the senior year. Again, the deadline cannot be extended, since faculty need time to read and evaluate your work before grades are due. You need to submit three complete copies of your thesis to the Dean's office and one to your mentor. Please note that it can take several hours to print and copy your thesis; don't wait until the last minute.
