Education Services Meet the Staff |

Health Education Services is comprised of health professionals who are available to help students deal with a range of personal health issues, including pregnancy, alcohol and drug use and abuse, adult children of alcoholics, eating disorders, sexual assault, relationship violence, stalking, stress management, and general health promotion. In addition, Emotional Intelligence is an area of interest and expertise for the staff of Health Education Services. All services are individualized, confidential, and free for students, unless otherwise stated. Staff members are also available to facilitate training and educational programs in these areas. In order to provide the time and attention that each student deserves, the staff sees students primarily by appointment. Urgent problems are attended to on a walk-in basis. Appointments can be made by calling each HES staff member directly or by calling the main Health Education number 687-8949 to speak with someone who will direct you to the appropriate person. DeSilvis, MS, CHES (687-4028) Health Educator/Program Coordinator Danielle DeSilvis is the Health Educator/Program Coordinator at Health Education Services, where she coordinates health education programs on campus. She is working to complete her doctoral degree at Widerner University in Human Sexuality. She is available to provide consultations for students in the areas of sexual health, pregnancy and risk based behaviors. Danielle team-teaches the Sexual Health Issues class in the School of Nursing and Health Studies. Patrick's role as Director for the Center for Personal Development is to educate and counsel students regarding choices surrounding alcohol and other drug use and abuse. Patrick provides confidential individual, family, and group counseling sessions for students struggling with issues related to substance abuse, adult children of alcoholics, and stress management. Pregnancy Services Pregnancy Information Line 202-687-5254 A comprehensive program is available for pregnant students or students who are concerned about pregnancy which includes confidential testing, counseling, and referral, information on a variety of subjects such as medical care, housing options, financial assistance, and academic assistance. Free pregnancy test kits are available at the Health Education Office located in 207 Village C West
