Using NAV 7.0: Running LiveUpdate

Virus definitions tell NAV what to look for when protecting you against malicious files. New viruses are released every day, but if NAV isn't told to watch out for these new viruses, it won't do anything about them. This is why it's so important to keep your virus definitions up to date by running LiveUpdate on regular basis. To make things easier, you can schedule Liveupdates to run automatically.

You may wish to scan your computer's files.

Running LiveUpdate

  1. Click on the colored apple at the top of your screen, then click on Control Panels, then on Norton AntiVirus.
  1. This will start the Norton AntiVirus program.

  1. Click on the LiveUpdate button.
  1. The LiveUpdate panel will pop up.
  1. Click on the Update Everything Now button.
  1. The LiveUpdate program will run and may load a variety of files onto your computer. You may be asked to authenticate repeatedly.

  1. When LiveUpdate has finished running, click on the OK button then click on the Quit button to close the panel.
