Installing NAV 7.0 on Mac OS 9.2 (or earlier)

How to use NAV 7.0

Using NAV 8.0: Editing LiveUpdates

It is very important to keep your virus definitions up to date. To do this, you must run LiveUpdates on a regular basis. To make things easier, you can schedule LiveUpdates to run automatically. Once they've been scheduled, you can edit or delete LiveUpdate tasks.

You may wish to scan your computer's files. You can also schedule scans to run automatically.

UIS recommends that you do not change the preset preferences in NAV 8.0.

Editing LiveUpdates

  1. If it is not already open, open the Norton Scheduler panel (see steps 1-6 of Scheduling LiveUpdates if you need help with this).
  1. Click on the task you want to modify (this will highlight it).

  1. Then click on the Edit button.
  1. If needed, change the name of your task.
  1. Under Choose a product to update:, click on the up/down arrows and select the type of information you want to download (for example, all products).
  1. Click on the up/down arrows beside Set a Frequency, then click on how often you want the LiveUpdate to run.
  1. Click on the date (or day) you want the LiveUpdate to run.
  1. Click on the up/down arrows beside Set the time, and select an appropriate time to run your LiveUpdate (make sure you choose a time when your computer will be on, but you won't be too busy).
  1. When you've made all your choices, click on the red dot to close the panel.
  1. You'll be asked if you want to save your changes. Click on the Save button.
  1. This will return you to the Scheduler panel. If you don't want to make any more changes, click on the red dot to close the panel.
