Using NAV 8.0: Scheduling File Scans

Remember that NAV will only find those viruses for which it has definitions. Let's say your computer contracts a virus for which you don't yet have a definition. NAV is not going to recognize this file as a virus. The virus will go about its business unhindered. You then run a LiveUpdate and receive a definition for this virus. NAV will now recognize this virus if it comes in again, but it still may not "notice" the copy of the virus that's already there on your computer. Unless you tell NAV to scan your files and look for malicious programs, the virus may continue to go unnoticed. This is why (in addition to running regular LiveUpdates) you should set NAV to scan your files on a regular basis.

Once they've been scheduled, you can edit or delete scanning tasks.
