If you are installing NAV on OS 10.2, you may get some error messages when you restart your computer. If you are using OS 10.2, be sure to see the section on errors encountered with OS 10.2.

Errors encountered with OS 10.2 (and what to do about them)

  1. If you are using OS 10.2, you may see some error messages when you restart your computer. You will have to run Norton's live update program to get rid of these messages.
  1. If you see this message, click on the OK button.

 

  1. If you see this message, click on the Don't Use button.

 

  1. Click on Go (at the top of your screen), then click on Applications.
  1. This will open the Applications folder.
  1. Double click on the Norton AntiVirus icon.

 

  1. The LiveUpdate Reminder will pop up.
  1. Click on the Run LiveUpdate button.
  1. Click on the Update Everything Now button.

 

  1. You'll be asked to authenticate yourself.
  1. Beside Password or phrase, type the password that you use when logging into the computer.
  1. Then click on the OK button.
  1. The LiveUpdate program will run and load a variety of files onto your computer. You may be asked to authenticate repeatedly.

  1. When LiveUpdate has finished running, click on the OK button.
  1. Close NAV and restart your computer. You should no longer get any error messages.
